Sulaiman Al Fahim's £60m Pompey takeover moved closer today after the completion of due diligence.
The News can reveal the investigation into the Blues' finances are now at a close as the Arab property tycoon inches nearer to becoming the club's new owner.

All the indications last week were the process was finished, but Al Fahim's advisor, Ivo Ilic Gabara, has now confirmed that is the case.

The Premier League last week started their fit-and-proper-person investigation into Al Fahim.

Pompey expect that process to take a week, although reports suggest it could take nearer a fortnight.

Finally. Will this story stay up here this time?

Any more teasing? I do not want gray hairs at the age of 25.

No doubt this story will prompt another deluge of doubters to post negatively on this article. I continue to keep the faith and look forward to a very interesting few weeks and some positive appointments and signings.....PUP

That would be about the 25th time it's finished then.

The media need to stop reporting it's end, as they quite clearly have no idea how it is progressing.

Another 'Evening News' smokescreen I suspect. 'due dilligence at an end' in the caption title. And in the body of the article another week or two for completion!

RogerG - Those 2 bits of information don't actually disagree with one another. We still have the F&PP test to come.

It would be nice, however, to see a quote from PS or SAF stating that the DD process is complete, not just Mr Cross and his "sources within the club".

"All the indications last week were the process was finished, but Al Fahim's advisor, Ivo Ilic Gabara, has now confirmed that is the case." the DD is over. the fit and proper test is what will take up to 2 weeks.

RogerG - Can I advise that you read the article before commenting, thank you.

Off topic a bit but Canterbury our kit manufacturer have gone into administration, and all their contracts have been cancelled, which would explain why the new kit has not been launched yet. More worringly, that's potentially another revenue source up the wall and not long to find another supplier and sponsor before the new season. Shame, as the Canterbury kits were so much better compared to that Jako rubbish we had before. Maybe they could let the fans design the new kit?!

All the signs are that it will be completed soon but unfortunately the signs seem to indicate that there isn't going to be too much money available for transfers. There is even talk of Paul Hart getting the managers job, and if that is true it would seem to indicate that the short term ambitions are pretty limited.
