Portsmouth have boosted their attacking options with the capture of Ben Sahar on a six-month loan deal.
The highly-rated 18-year-old Chelsea striker is already an Israel international and enjoyed spells at Sheffield Wednesday and QPR last season.

But it was at Hillsborough where he really impressed, scoring three times in 12 appearances.

More to follow.

This guy is going to put pressure on Defoe & Crouch? Better than Nugent & Kanu?
Strikes me he will get a handful of reserve games and nothing more, which is less competitive than playing for QPR or Sheff Wed in the fizzy pop league!

"where he really impressed, scoring three times in 12 appearances". If that is impressive I would hate to see him in a lean spell.

is anyone else a bit underwhelmed by our transfers so far?

This one seems like a complete waste of time unless there is a permanent option at the end of the six months! May be things aren't going to well on Crouch and Gudjohnsen but surely there are better players, we shouldn't be nurturing Chelsea's reserves for them.

He may not have impreessed so far but who knows Harry and co may see something in him. Also we have only signed him for 6mths so that says something itself, it's just long enough top have a good look at him, how he trains and plays etc. Regarding transfers so far, do not panic, as I undrerstand it the transfer window only opened today 1st July, and the fact we have had a major competition for the last 3 wks, club personnel all over Euorope have been taking thier breaks. Activity so far has been few and far between, but you can expect things to start moving as clubs begin to return to training and gearing up for a new season.

So sit tight Harry and Peter know what they are doing, I'm sure we will have 3 big names in before the window shuts at the end of August.

Although these aren't the 'TOP' signings we have been hoping for, i believe that Little and Sahar are good signings to strengthen our squad. I am still confident that the @BIG' signings will come.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
