We need to keep hold of Sol, he's important to us despite what others might say on here.

I read this on SkySports.com this morning and was nearly in tears with laughter, the Daily Express really need to do their background stuff as Sol signed a two year deal with us at the beginning of the season. Great display of another supposed big tabloid (gutter rag) orginisation trying to get rid of our players for us, top class reporting to be sure, go pick on another team you bunch of vultures.

If it's the clubs policy not to discuss tranfers of course they are going to deny it.just like it's certain peoples policy not to discuss certain events to their wives and girfriends..."I wasn't with that girl last night".
Would that be the same as saying we are not going to be signing a player and keep insisting we are not then 15 minutes later we sign them?.
Even tho he has not been treated fairly by quite a few people from Peter to the media he has done good since he has been here and it might be his last year here but it will be his choice not the clubs.

i think we still need to sign another top central defender but also keep campbell for his last year as he is good for the younger lads to learn from and look to emulate. on a side note i reckon Riise is worth a go from Harry as liverpool will let him go.

There was not a quote from PFC in that story. There is also a difference between the club saying something and Harry saying he likes a player.

Anyone know what Gary Double was misquoted on?

I think sol will go anyway, he has not come out and said he wants to stay and looks miserable at times. Dreaming of the sun I expect. Still all we be forgiven if we lift the cup on the 17th....

If it's true (?) that Sol is leaving at the end of the season, then i say thanks for your help Sol! He may be at the twilight of his career, but he and other 'older' players have helped put us where we are today.Personally, i would like to see him see out his contract, but if Harry lets him go, then good luck to him for the future!

I can help out here, the quote was along the lines of Sol will go with Luisano?? (sorry for the spelling) being lined up as his replacement with a 12 mil price tag from Benfica to open nagotiations. Sol has been off the boil at times but hes been absolutely emence since joining us, I'd hate to see him leave but if, in the words of Redknapp when previously discussing selling players, we get offered silly money for him we should take it instead of having him go on a Bosman. To be honest it seems like we've burned ourselves out towards the end of this season, if thats the case should we win the FA Cup and get to Europe the squad will need major work to ensure we stay strong throughout next season.

Today's Vote

With Peter Crouch signed up, where will Pompey finish next season?
It's the Champions League for us
We can challenge the top four
A top-six finish is in sight
It's a tough league, the top half will do
