Tickets on sale for Pompey's clash with Portuguese

Tickets for Pompey's UEFA Cup first-leg clash with Vitoria FC at Fratton Park went on sale to supporters this morning.

Season ticket holders in the West Stand can buy their tickets today with fans in the South Stand Upper and Family section able to purchase theirs tomorrow.

North Stand Upper fans can buy their tickets on Monday, September 8 and North Stand Lower fans can buy theirs on September 9.

Tickets will then go on sale to members on Wednesday, September 10, and subject to availability, the remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, September 11.

Tickets will cost £20 for adults, £10 for seniors and young person season ticket holders, and £5 for juniors.

Fans can buy tickets by calling Ticketmaster on 0844 847 1898 between 10am and 6pm. They can also visit the club's ticket office in Rodney Road between 9.30am and 5.30pm.

Meanwhile more details emerged about tickets for the away leg in Portugal.

The club said it had an initial allocation of 3,000 tickets for the game and is negotiating to obtain a further 2,000 tickets.

The club today said that up to 1,500 of the tickets would be available only to fans who booked through the club's partner, Thomson Sport Travel.

I expect we are going to get ripped off yet again by ticketmaster charging extortionate fees on top of the expensive telephone call. It just shows how far behind the times PFC really are when a Premiership club cannot sort out a simple on-line booking system !!!

Do we really have to have the whole Ticketmaster whinges yet again? What is the club to do? Employ people to manage a rush for tickets for big occasions? Like that happens every week. Why employ people who then just sit around most of the year and then once in a blue moon have to handle a ticket rush - especially when there is someone out there who does it anyway like Ticketmaster. Don't get me wrong, I know some peoople have not been happy with the Ticketmaster service, but it worked like clockwork for me for the semi final and the final. No complaints.
And the club have reduced the price of the tickets too when they could have tried to cash in. To be honest, if you think you are being ripped off then don't buy a ticket and don't go.

I see the official travel company of PFC are selling a one night trip for £399! What a con. I got flights and hotel for 2 nights for less than £150 and I know that I will need to pay for the train and match ticket but its still less than half their price! On a more serious note I see Harry has ruled him self out of the running for West Ham at the first available oportunity - good for him at least we don't have to have a few weeks of speculation. Why would Harry want to go to the hammers when his first ever european adventure is just around the corner PUP

a mate of mine has just been down the ticket office and bought his tickets for both the uefa cup home game and the chelsea carling cup game! looks like you dont have to use ticketmaster afterall!

and only a possible 5,000 tickets with 1,500 going to those who use thomson? thats ridiculous...with their prices you will only use them as a last resort! im already booked for it all just need the ticket! i hope we get more than 5,000 cos that'll mean about 10,000 people will be fighting for 3,500 tickets! uefa allow upto 25% of the capacity for away fans which for us would be 7,500!
