Emmanuel Bett has won the Bupa Great South Run as athletes poured onto the streets of Portsmouth and Southsea this morning.
The Kenyan took the title in a time of 48min 03sec – with defending champion Stephen Mokoka second in 48.22.
Ugandan Thomas Ayeko (49.08) made up the podium places with Great Britain’s Andy Vernon fourth in 49.21.
The women’s race was won by favourite Florence Kiplagat in 53.53.
She was almost three minutes clear of fellow Kenyan Polline Wanjiku (56.43), with Briton Charlotte Purdue third in 56.57.
