OLIVIA BREEN’s assault on the IPC Athletics World Championships continued this afternoon with a lifetime best in the T38 long jump.

The City of Portsmouth starlet clinched sixth spot in her first ever long jump for Great Britain with a distance of 4.27m.

The jump, which beat her previous personal best by four centimetres, arrived on Breen’s first of six attempts in the final.

It was another encouraging Doha display from the 19-year-old multi-eventer, who narrowly missed out on a sprint medal last Thursday when coming fourth in the 100m final.

Breen now turns her attention to Thursday’s 200m, before hoping to be part of Saturday’s 4x100m relay team.

Meanwhile, Fareham’s Dave Henson finished third in heat one of the T42 200m to qualify for tomorrow’s final (2.31pm).
