Last night they made it two out two in the superb series managed by Nice Work on behalf of Absolute Running, in Gosport.

Simpson finished first with a time of 16min 58sec and Elkins bagged her second win clocking 18.15.

A total of 124 runners finished race two with great club turnouts again.

Simpson said: ‘I like the windy conditions, it suits me.

‘You put a brick wall up and I will try to run through it. I do like the challenge.’

Elkins added: ‘I found it a lot harder in the wind. Last month it was so much easier for me but it was still good.

‘It’s a lovely event.’

The 1k junior race again proved popular as well.
