He’s back. The hero of last year’s Bupa Great South Run is returning to defend his title.
Southern African ace Stephen Mokoka is gearing up for taking on the streets of Portsmouth and Southsea’s in Europe’s biggest 10-miler once again.
That’s after he toyed with the field before outsprinting Ayad Lamdassem and Tariku Bekele over the final 250m 12 months ago.
Mokoka gives his exclusive thoughts to The News at today’s press conference, ahead of Sunday’s race.
And he will be joined by a familiar face as Portsmouth’s golden girl, swimmer Katy Sexton MBE, takes to dry land and competes in the event for the first time.
Sexton speaks of her excitement at running in her home city, which roared her on to World Championship and Commonwealth Games glory.
