Sprint doubles for Pocock and Spry in Havant speed test

Harry Pocock and Amelia Spry recorded sprint success at the Havant Open meeting.

The City of Portsmouth duo both doubled up to take 100m and 200m victories.

Pocock specialises over 400m but he recorded a good time of 10.9sec time to win his 100m race.

He also finished first in the 200m with a time of 22.3.

Under-15 sprinter Spry won the 100m in 13.0 and the 200m in 27.6.

It was a good event for City with several victories at the Mountbatten Centre.

Serena Vincent also recorded an excellent double.

She took first place in the under-15 girls’ shot put with 11.78m.

And she also won the javelin with a distance of 28.80m.

Sophie Brame clocked 13.9 to win her under-13 100m race.

In the 200m Sophie Laughton was fastest under-17 woman (28.1).

Lorna Dockerill won the 300m with a time of 45.0.

Saffron Moore was first under-15 girl in the 800m with a time of 2.23.5.

Katie Yorke threw 37.33m to win the under-17 women’s hammer.

And Ella May Sprake won the under-13 shot with a distance of 7.90m.

Havant’s Callum Taylor won the under-13 javelin with a distance of 31.65m.

Maisie Grice, from Fareham, was also in good form to win the under-17 women’s javelin with a distance of 34.96m.

Grice competes for Aldershot, Farnham & District.

City of Portsmouth start their Southern League division two west campaign tomorrow with a trip to Uxbridge.

Havant start their campaign in the same division away at Andover.
