Sunshine for a dazzling parkrun day

Run director Hayley Richardson and the team of volunteers welcomed 356 runners.

Sameen Farouk completed his 50th parkrun and 74 parkrunners set new personal bests.

Pete Collins, of Portsmouth Joggers, was first to finish in 17min 23sec – just two seconds outside his best.

Robert Fryer, of City of Portsmouth, was next (17.46), with Victory’s Paul Mitchinson third (18.01).

City of Portsmouth’s Emma Williams got a new personal best of 20.12 as she was first female finisher with Jo Fleming, of Spa Striders, next (21.07) and City’s Sian Hawkes third (21.26).

Queen Elizabeth parkrun

Run number 156 took place at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Horndean.

The total of 67 finishers included eight runners from Baffins Fitclub.

James Lewington was first finisher in a new personal best time of 19.43 with Lucy Mitchell, Liss AC, first lady (23.54).

Havant parkrun

It was a chilly morning for Havant parkrun number 203 as 269 runners completed the course and 17 volunteers helped out at Staunton Country Park.

A total of 33 new personal bests were set and many runners enjoyed a coffee and a piece of cake after.

Dean Smith was first to finish in a time of 17.20, with Hannah Lowry first female finisher in 23.00.

To get a time and a finishing position everyone must bring their barcode.

Fareham parkrun

Run director Tom Mellor and the team of volunteers welcomed 171 happy parkrunners for the third Fareham event.

City of Portsmouth’s Steven Cross was first to finish (17.43), with Andy Wheeler second (18.12).

Emma Brewin, of Portsmouth Joggers, was first female (23.22), with Kerryanne Sawyer, of Stubbington Green Runners, second (23.43) and Harriet Burr, of Havant AC, third (24.01).
