That means the professional fight night at the Mountbatten Centre on June 26 has been cancelled.

Moore was due to meet Yordan Vasilev, after losing out to the Bulgarian in their memorable 2013 encounter.

But the 24-year-old tripped on a medicine ball when undergoing a gym session after sparring.

Moore said: ‘I’m gutted for myself and all of the other boxers who were on the show.

‘But the doctors are saying I can’t do anything for six weeks.

‘I wanted to give it a go still, but there’s no way I would have been able to box.’
