Joel McIntyre prepared for the biggest moment of his boxing life and vowed: I’m ready.

Leigh Park’s nine-fight unbeaten pro believes he is in the shape of his career as he prepares to meet Danny Couzens tonight for the International Masters light-heavyweight title in Portsmouth.

And McIntyre promised he won’t let the occasion get to him in the local showdown.

He said: ‘I am ready to go, trust me.

‘It’s the biggest fight of my career. I have to stay focused and not get over-excited. It’s exciting, though.

‘The only person who can beat me is me. And I know I’m not going to let that happen.

‘I’ve done all the hard work. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in.

‘I just want to be as calm as possible and go about my work properly.

‘There are butterflies, but this is what I do. This is what I dream of – and I’m ready for it.’
