PORTSMOUTH Amateur Boxing Club delivered non-stop drama on Saturday at Priory Sports Centre.

The university outfit staged 15 fast-paced fights, with four home winners and other local successes making it a great occasion for fans.

Portsmouth uni quartet Craig Cardy, Jonathan Francois, John Dunn and Helen Tamlyn all had their arms raised in victory.

That came after Titchfield talent Sam Nuttall, 12, kicked the daytime show off with a sparkling stoppage win.

At the other end of the spectrum, the card was finished in fitting fashion when Kryan Patterson of Gosport ABC took on Bamidele Ogunseye of Portsmouth university.

Thunderous blows from the super heavyweight duo sent shockwaves around the arena, with Patterson given the win.

Portsmouth ABC coach and fighter Tamlyn was thrilled with the Southsea show.

She said: ‘Overall it was really good.

‘Four boys having their first bouts were fantastic – none of them gave in.

‘The experienced boys all put in a good show.

‘Quite a few of them had hard bouts but they all boxed fantastic so we’re really happy.’
