Andy Boulton, Rob Kirby and Tony Hansford were on target for the Southsea men, who were up against it with Hall winning by 92 points against Steve Cole.

All three fixtures in division two produced 5-2 scores.

Pompey Royals were too good for Copnor Xcels despite early resistance from Barry and Kevin Figgins.

The next two games were close run with Jon Challacombe and Colin Greenwood sneaking home 150-145 against Graham Farr and Dave Gowing respectively.

Copnor F beat Craneswater R even though Andy Carter managed to accumulate 306 points and win for the beaten side.

Liam Melia also scored for the home side.

However, Gary Wilton, Darren Harper, Gary Green and Rob Derry Snr called the tune afterwards.

Ray Steere and Jamie Curtis did well for Cowplain B against Leigh Park.

But they were against a better outfit and could not find a way to win.

Steve Scott and Pete Ferguson stormed through before Bill Parsons and Ricky Burnett showed their class at the three ball game to make sure of a good opening return.
