Matt Coles has penned a loan deal with Hampshire.
The powerfull all-rounder switches from Kent until the end of the season.
And he goes straight into the squad for the County Championship division two clash at Lancashire, which begins tomorrow.
Coles, 23, will be available for all the club’s remaining first-class matches this term.
He said: ‘I’m delighted to be joining Hampshire for the remainder of the 2013 season.
‘I have played against and alongside many of the guys in the team and look forward to a very productive time at the Ageas Bowl.’
A right-arm seam bowler and left-handed batsman, Coles has represented England Lions.
He has 1,178 first-class runs, including four half centuries and one ton.
With the ball, Coles has taken 133 first-class wickets and has a best of six for 51.
