Hampshire once again showed their resilience on day two of the County Championship clash against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
The hosts resumed their first innings this morning on 96 for four and were eventually bowled out for 250 – a lead of 109.
James Tomlinson was the pick of the Hampshire bowlers, taking three for 71, while Chris Wood, Sean Ervine and Dimi Mascarenhas all claimed two victims each.
Crucial knocks from Michael Carberry (49), Neil McKenzie (45) and James Vince (33 not out) then allowed the visitors to cancel out the deficit and end day two on 163 for four – a precarious lead of 54.
Bottom club Hampshire will resume their battle against relegation to division two tomorrow morning.
