Hampshire have completed an eight-wicket County Championship win over Nottinghamshire as they kept up their part of the survival bargain.

The Ageas Bowl outfit reached their 200-run victory target as Michael Carberry (84 not out) and Will Smith (34 not out) guided them home.

All eyes have now switched to Headingley where Hampshire need Yorkshire to beat Sussex.

The Hove club were in trouble at 88 for five at lunch and if the champions can take the remaining five wickets in the final two sessions of the match, Hampshire will stay in division one next season.
