Hampshire will start their 2014 bid for promotion from division two of the County Championship with a home game against Worcestershire.

The season-opener will be played at the Ageas Bowl from Sunday, April 6, before the team go on their travels to Gloucestershire (April 13) and Derbyshire (April 20), before returning home to face recently-relegated Surrey on Sunday, April 27.

A home tie against Glamorgan on Friday, May 16, provides Hampshire’s opening match of their NatWest t20 Blast campaign.

This year’s restructured competition will see four further Friday night home fixtures against Essex, Gloucestershire, Middlesex and Sussex across May, June and July.

Other matches against last year’s beaten finalists Surrey and the Royals’ 2012 semi-final opponents Somerset make up the seven home NatWest t20 Blast fixtures.

Hampshire face a tough start to the Royal London One-Day Cup, with three away matches against Derbyshire, Lancashire and Gloucestershire in five days, starting on Saturday, July 26.

Three floodlit matches in August against Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Worcestershire at The Ageas Bowl then follow, with a spot in the top four of the group enough to see progression into the next stage of the competition.

For international cricket fans, the highlight of the Ageas Bowl calendar is the Investec Test match between England and India on Sunday, July 27.

Tickets are currently on general sale and can be bought online from The Ageas Bowl’s ticketing website, over the phone on 0844 847 1863 or by visiting the ticket office, in person, during normal office hours.
