HAMPSHIRE’s cricketers turned their hand to some training with the oval ball as they stepped up their preparations for the new campaign.
Jimmy Adams and the rest of the players were put through their paces by Harlequins backs coach, Mark Mapletoft, who put on a rugby fitness session for the players as they get ready for their return to the County Championship’s top flight.
Mapletoft is an old friend of Hampshire director of cricket, Giles White, who is keen to keep the players mentally fresh before they head off to Barbados next month for pre-season friendlies.
White said: ‘We always like to try to do something different every now and again throughout the winter. So we’re very grateful to Mark for popping down and I think all the lads really enjoyed it.’
