Alex Shephard struck a brilliant century as Waterlooville maintained their 100-per-cent start to the season.
The Rowlands Avenue outfit made it five wins out of five as they claimed a 46-run success over neighbours Havant II in Southern Electric Premier League division three.
And it was a fine batting display from Shephard (116) and Sam Williams (78) that made the difference as the duo put on 146 runs for the third wicket.
They were also backed up by John Hudson (40), who also shared in a century stand.
Progress was checked by Havant’s Pete Hayward (two for 29) and Graham Burns (two for 60) but the home side still posted 294 for five.
Havant II made a decent fist of their reply with Andy Galliers (47), Hayward (45) and Harry Hovey (43) all getting good starts.
But Hudson (three for 40) then also contributed with the ball as Havant II closed on 248 for nine.
