Hampshire suffered a six-wicket T20 defeat at the hands of Warwickshire on their Caribbean tour last night.

The defeat means they will now play the local Combined Colleges and Campuses team today at 2pm in the plate knockout competition, with the hope of meeting Derbyshire or Barbados in the final at the Kensington Oval.

With Sean Ervine (81 not out of 57 balls) and Liam Dawson (44 off 29 balls) both impressing with the bat and putting together a stand of 90 runs for the fourth wicket, the Royals posted a healthy 162 for five off their 20 overs.

But it proved not enough as the Bears sealed victory with six wickets remaining.

An unbeaten partnership of 70 between Rikki Clarke (40) and Chris Woakes (27 not out) saw them clinch victory with two balls to spare.

David Balcombe, Sean Ervine, Liam Dawson and Michael Carberry all took wickets for the Royals.
