Leg-spinner Imran Tahir has signed for Hampshire subject to visa clearance.

The South-African will only be available for Hampshire’s last two LV= County Championship matches against Kent at the Ageas Bowl and Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.

The 35-year-old, who has taken 40 Test Match wickets for South-Africa, has made 77 appearances for Hampshire since his debut in July 2008.

Tahir made an instant impact during his time at Hampshire, taking figures of 7-66 in just his second match for the Club against Lancashire.

He particularly impressed in the 2011 season when he took 50 wickets in 29 matches at an average of 22.
