Marcin Bialoblocki clinched the sprint jersey at the Dubai Tour this morning.

The Polish time trial champion, who won the Perfs Pedal in 2013 and finished third last season, was part of a four-man breakaway on the stage to Palm Jumeirah.

The ONE Pro Cycling star showcased his power as he swept up the intermediate sprints points to take his place on the podium.

And once the break was caught, Bialoblocki still had enough strength to help position Chris Opie for a second successive top-10 finish.

Opie, who also boasts Perfs Pedal glory on his palmares, sprinted to ninth spot after taking seventh on stage one.

Elia Viviani won the sprint from a bunch which had been reduced by a crash with 1km to go.

Team Sky’s triumphant Italian will now don the leader’s jersey for the penultimate stage on Friday.

The 2016 Perfs Pedal takes place on Sunday, February 14.
