And following a period of settled weather, Chinn believes it won’t be a mud bath.

The race organiser said: ‘I’m hoping for a great day’s racing.

‘I have to warn people who have ridden here before, the course is totally different this time round.

‘It is set on the other side of the site’s access road where there is an old golf course.

‘The ground is very free-draining, so after a period of dryish, settled weather, it’s unlikely to be a mud fest.

‘The grass will be cut again tomorrow but it is a draggy, sapping course with a bit of woodland and no tarmac.

‘Once again we welcome all spectators.

‘So come along and enjoy some great cycle racing, while cheering on the riders.’

Racing begins at 10am with the under-10s, the under-12s follow at 10.20am before the youths and novices are off at 10.45am and 10.47am respectively.
