Admiral Drake B’s Jon Bramble and Dawn Simmonds were crowned Portsmouth League mixed pairs champions as they beat Dean Jones and Jane Monaghan, of Newcome Arms A, 3-1 in the final.

The Drake duo took a 2-0 lead throwing an 18-dart leg in the process.

Jones and Monaghan hit back with a 17-darter but Bramble and Simmonds registered a 17-dart effort of their own to clinch the title.

To reach the final, the champions beat Jolly Taxpayer C’s Jim Mortimer and Jenny Ford 3-1.

Meanwhile, the Newcome pair dispatched Drake’s Gary Collis and Eileen Smith 3-0 in their semi-final.

In division A, Ricky Williams (Admiral Drake B), Lee O’Donovan (Mr Pickwick B) and Vince Aston (Phoenix North End B) lead the aggregate race having lost only one match each so far this season.

Dean Jones (Newcome Arms A) has the fastest game so far with a 13-dart leg and James Brooker (Admiral Drake B) holds the highest finish to date with a 148 game-shot.

Neil Sheppard (Rose in June B) is the frontrunner in division B for fastest game and highest finish, having chalked up both a 15-dart leg and 153 check-out.

Darryl Manchip (Artillery Arms A) is the tier’s form player having lost just one game so far this season.

Division C’s aggregate pacesetter, Dean Barlow (Graham Arms B), has also only lost one leg.

Mike Feaver (Phoenix North End C) has a 151 game-shot to his name and Robbie Blake (Duke of Devonshire) and Dale Adams (Old House at Home A) have the joint fastest leg so far with both registering 17-dart efforts.

There is currently a three-way tie for division D’s aggregate crown as Paul Miller (Alma Arms), Steve Houghton (Jolly Taxpayer A) and Phil King (Star & Garter) have all suffered just one defeat in the league.

Miller is also one of three players leading the way for the fastest game having finished a leg in 17 darts. His feat has been matched by Malcolm Smith (Artillery Arms B) and Dave King (Star & Garter).

Richard Lindford (Admiral Drake A) has the highest finish with a 140 game-shot.

Shane Plummer (George & Dragon A) is undefeated in division E this season and also has the fastest game so far with an 18-darter.

The highest finish at the moment is shared by David Lock (Froddington Arms) and John Blower (Old House at Home C), who have both sealed leg wins with 100 check-outs.

Division F also has a player with a 100-per-cent record with Alex Hood (Oyster House) winning all his games so far.

Lee Dagnell (Surrey Arms) has thrown an 18-dart leg and Daniel Farmer (Trafalgar Arms) notched a 151 game-shot.
