Froddington Arms B moved above Mr Pickwick in division A after coming from behind to beat them 5-4.

Pickwick took a 2-0 lead after Dave Kattenhorn and Julian Court notched early sets.

But Froddington reeled off four on the trot, with Luke King, Shaun O’Donovan, Ron Jafkins and Ash Purkiss giving them the lead.

A walkover for Phil Rudder reduced Pickwick’s deficit to one, but Liam Jafkins scored 180 to win the penultimate set and give Froddington the points.

Vic Smith won the last set as a consolation for Pickwick.

Graham Arms A drop to fourth in division B after suffering a 5-4 derby defeat to Graham Arms B.

The A team took a 3-1 lead as Kevin Gilchrist, Nigel Young and Paul Skeates chalked up wins, while only Terry Griffiths could muster any early resistance for Graham B.

However, the B side hit back with Robert Jamieson, Keith John and Lester Miles putting them three up.

Graham A’s Andrew Duffin forced a decider which Simon Blake won for Graham B.

The loss leaves Graham A level on points with Harvest Home and two points behind Phoenix North End A, who sit in second.

Phoenix and Harvest play each other in the final game, while Graham face already-relegated Old Canal A.

In division C, Mother Shipton and Admiral Drake A are battling to stay off the foot of the table.

And Shipton did their chances the world of good after beating Drake 6-3.

Shipton led from the start as Alan Gleeben and Ben Watson put them 2-0 up, before Anthony Griffin got Drake off the mark.

Keith Mayne and Robert Port doubled Shipton’s tally to make it 4-1, but Ian Attfield and Richard Linford were on hand to keep Drake in the match.

Victor Stanworth sealed Shipton’s victory in the penultimate leg, leaving team-mate Colin Dollery to round things off.

At the other end of the table, Pelham Arms A and Stag C will go head-to-head in the remaining game of the season to see who is crowned champion, and fourth-placed Druids Arms will snatch the third promotion spot from Jolly Taxpayer A if they beat Star & Garter.

George & Dragon A’s hopes of landing the division D title were dealt a blow as they went down 5-4 to Brewers Arms.

Sean Hickley and Mark Pearce gave George a 2-1 lead, with legs either side of a win from Jason Bryant.

Martin Place and Gary Ebdon then moved Brewers ahead, but George’s Malcolm Tilley restored parity.

Brewers wasted no further time in wrapping up the points as Dale Clements and Jason Harris were on the mark.

Shane Plummer added a late consolation for George.

George now go into their last game against Barley Mow knowing they must win and hope table-topping Lord Chichester B slip up against third-placed Phoenix North End C, who are already guaranteed promotion.

Newcome Arms B kept their noses ahead in the division E title race as they won 5-4 against Stag B – a result which ends Stag’s promotion hopes.

Stag made the better start, with Tom Jeffery and Mike Barnes in winning ways.

But they were soon behind as Ron Beale, Bill Tipler and Tony Price all registered triumphs for Newcome.

Mark Barnes pulled Stag level but Newcome immediately restored their lead through Alex Adams.

Stag’s Dave Smith won to ensure the match went the distance, and Gary Tobitt won the crucial last leg for Newcome.

Newcome sit two points clear of second-placed Rose in June A, but with an inferior legs aggregate, they must win their last game to be crowned champions.

Dean Jones and Steve Filby (both Newcome Arms A) fired in 15-dart legs, while Vince Aston (Phoenix North End B) and Rob Newland (Admiral Drake B) both had 16-darters. Jones and Aston also scored 180.

Colin Prout (Jolly Taxpayer B) registered a 17-dart effort and Shane Filleul (Newcome Arms A), Darren Barnes (Froddington Arms A), Eamond Leightley (Jolly Taxpayer A) and Ivan Gicquel (Phoenix North End B) all threw 18-dart legs, with Gicquel hitting a 141 game-shot.

Neil Banks (Jolly Taxpayer C) checked-out on 114 and Barry Stevens (Admiral Drake B) scored a maximum.
