But once the match was over as a contest Baffins came to life with Bruce Duff, Fred Fuggle, Ian Bates and Vic Wain all on the mark so there was only one leg separating the sides at the end of the match.

Danny Smith (Admiral Drake B) and Lee Todd (Phoenix North End B) both threw 16-dart legs, while Rob Griffin (Portland Arms) had a 17-darter and Vince Aston (Phoenix North End B), Bill Sturgess (Admiral Drake B) and Darren Barnes (Newcome Arms A) all finished legs in 18 darts.

Dave Robinson (Newcome Arms A) hit a 109 check-out, while Trevor Cawte (Phoenix North End C), Dennis Smith (Admiral Drake B), Ron Jafkins and Liam Jafkins (both Mr Pickwick) all fired in maximums.

The AGM for the summer league is on Monday, March 17.

Teams are reminded all outstanding fines must be paid by then.

It is also an opportunity to request new score pads.
