Gosport’s pub teams emerged victorious as they resurrected the rivalry with their club league counterparts and raised almost £1,400 in the process.
Nearly 200 people attended the fundraising night at the RNA Club – in aid of two-year-old Aiden Farrell who suffers from cerebal palsy.
Paul Sharp, Steve Harper, Ian Harty, Tim Phillips, Fon Owen, Rich Clark, Steve Ward, Marty Ward, Paul Smith, Leigh Chappell, Nick Pateman, Dave Harper and Mike Symes were all on the mark to give the pub side a 13-4 triumph.
Marty Ward fired in a pair of 14-dart legs and Clark hit a 102 finish.
Tony Hutchinson, Keith Hopper, Troy Butler and Dan Baker, who scored 180, all won for the club team.
Special thanks goes to Rose Cadawllader, Dinks D’Agostino and Wendy Poole for helping raise money throughout the evening.
Dean Robinson, Mike Tume and Lee Pannell raised £200 by playing matches in just their underwear.
More fundraising for Aiden’s treatment will take place on Friday at the Foresters Arms, Gosport, when the BDO’s Scott ‘Scotty Dog’ Mitchell will be playing in an exhibition match.
