ALEX PIKE has signed midfielder Aaron Dawson who played for Truro City in National League South last season.
The 24-year-old has previously featured in the Football League for Exeter City and Torquay United.
He is the latest signing in a busy summer recruitment drive at Privett Park.
And he will join Exeter-based Ben Harding and goalkeeper Martin Rice in making the journey east.
Gosport boss Pike is pleased to have him on board.
He said: ‘We have signed Aaron on a two-year deal.
‘The lad can play right back, central midfield and on the right of midfield.
‘He was on loan with the Hawks a few years ago and is a very competitive player.
‘His ability to play in a number of positions is an added bonus.
‘He has played in the Football League for Exeter City and Torquay United and is an excellent signing for us.
‘I am signing players on two-year deals because I am looking to build a team that will stay together for a couple of seasons.
‘Our financial problems are sorted and we have been granted our licence to play in National South next season.’
Pike’s squad is starting to take shape for next season.
The latest signing following soon after the arrival of strikers Warren Bentley, Jason Parrish and Chris Flood, from Winchester City, AFC Portchester and Basingstoke Town respectively.
After announcing their departure from the club winger Dan Wooden and defender Sam Pearce have changed their minds and decided to return.
Pike added: ‘I had a talk with both players and we decided to wipe the slate clean.’
