McDonald makes a meal of Maidenhead
John McDonald's first Hawks goal proved enough to give his side a 1-0 Blue Square South win over Maidenhead United at West Leigh Park.
The home side, who were notching their first league win since September 5, made the breakthrough on 56 minutes when McDonald fired home a loose ball from close range at a corner.
The triumph was the perfect way to follow up their 4-1 triumph over Thurrock in the FA Trophy.
And it ensured the Hawks got back on track in the league after a run of eight games without a win.
Elsewhere, the Rocks crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Tootong & Mitcham United in the Ryman Premier.
It was a second-successive home defeat for the Nyewood Lane outfit.
Gosport Borough's Zamaretto Southern League encounter at Bishop's Cleeve was called off this morning.
While in the Wessex League premier division, Fareham beat hosts Winchester City 1-0 and Moneyfields were crushed 5-0 at Wimborne Town.
The clash between Hayling and Hamworthy United at the County Ground was abandoned after 63 minutes - due to unplayable conditions - with the home side 2-0 up.
