Mick Catlin has backed Gosport to pick up where they left off in their pursuit of promotion.

Borough return to Southern League division one south & west action after a two-week break with a trip to Taunton Town (3pm).

Currently sitting in fifth spot, the Privett Park side will want to keep the chasing pack at bay with a victory.

And assistant-boss Catlin has backed them to do it.

‘The break came at a time when we had a bit of momentum going,’ he said.

‘It is vital we now re-focus and pick up where we left off.

‘We know what we want to achieve and, in a way, the two weeks off may be a blessing in disguise.

‘It has helped us get a few players back from their niggling injuries.

‘And we are hoping the experience we have in our team will help us settle straight back into it.

‘We haven’t won down there since our manager referred to them as “no more than a pub team”, though.

‘Not surprisingly, they raise their game against us on their tricky sloping pitch.

‘But we cannot afford any slip-ups.’

Dan Wooden and Lee Molyneaux are suspended, while Aaron Cook and Liam Sewell are injury doubts.

Borough are set to hand a debut to central midfielder Ian Humble, who signed from Alton Town.

Gosport Borough: Ashmore, Poate, Cook, Jones G, Lewis, Way, Ford, Kirby, Wilde, Bennett, Langworthy, Humble, Hards, Sewell, Woodward, Laycock
