Tambling goal not enough for Fareham
Rob Tambling was on the mark for Fareham in their 2-1 defeat at Lymington
Fareham Town suffered late heartache in their game with Lymington Town as they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the Wessex League premier division.
With the freezing weather once again affecting the non-league fixture list throughout the area, the pitch at Lymington passed a late inspection to ensure the game would definitely go ahead.
And that decision appeared to suit the visitors as Rob Tambling’s early goal looked enough to give Matt Parr’s side the three vital points on the road.
But their hosts had other ideas, scoring two late goals to ensure the three points were heading in their direction.
In the only other local game to be played, Bognor recovered from a tough start to stay top of Ryman division one south with victory over Merstham at Nyewood Lane.
James Crane put the hosts in front on 43 minutes, before Ashley Robinson came off the bench to seal victory for the Rocks.
