The FA Trophy semi-final remains finely balanced as the Hawks and Gosport Borough fought out a 1-1 draw in the rain at Westleigh Park.

A nervous mistake-ridden first half ended goalless with neither side creating a clear-cut chance.

Gosport caught the Hawks napping two minutes into the second half to break the deadlock.

When the hosts failed to cut out a long forward ball, Tim Sills drilled a low shot into the far corner.

Stunned by the goal, the Hawks hit back to equalise in the 59th minute.

Nic Ciardini worked himself a good position before thundering a low drive through the crowded goalmouth into the bottom corner.

The Skrill South rivals will meet again on Saturday at Privett Park (3pm), with the winners advancing to a Wembley final against Cambridge United or Grimsby Town on Sunday, March 23.
