Justin Bennett’s brace helped Gosport Borough to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bridgwater Town this afternoon.
The striker put Boro 1-0 ahead in the Southern League clash before his side were reduced to 10 men when Dan Wooden picked up a straight red card for a two-footed challenge.
Despite that, Bennett added another before the visitors pulled one back and made Boro work for their victory.
Elsewhere, goals from Dan Beck and Terry Dodd were enough to give Bognor a 2-0 Ryman League triumph over Faversham.
In the Wessex League, Fareham Town stormed to a remarkable 7-0 victory at Hamworthy United, and Moneyfields made it ten wins in a row with a 1-0 success against GE Hamble.
Also in the premier division, Horndean lost 3-1 at New Milton Town, and Hayling went down by the same scoreline at home to Newport.
