Moneyfields were denied the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Wessex League premier division after a 2-1 defeat to fellow title-rivals Blackfield & Langley.

Goals either side of half-time from Edgar Zanin and Liam Green gave the home side a two-goal cushion.

Jack Lee gave Miles Rutherford’s side a late lifeline but it was too little to late as third-placed Blackfield secured the win to put pressure on the Dover Road side and Petersfield, who remain in second.

The Rams’ home fixture with Fawley was called off due to a waterlogged pitch – as was Horndean’s trip to Brockenhurst and Fareham’s visit of Christchurch.

AFC Portchester’s game at Bemerton Heath Harlequins did survive the weather, though, as they drew 1-1.

Jamie Musselwhite’s late leveller rescued a point for Graham Rix’s side after Jack Slade gave the hosts the lead in the first half.
