BOGNOR’s youngsters are being challenged to keep on proving themselves as they help the club get over their injury crisis.

A line-up with fewer than half its regulars took the Rocks up to seventh in the Ryman premier with a 2-0 win at Carshalton.

And many of the young players who stepped up to the mark will be back in action for the Rocks at Canvey Island tomorrow.

The Rocks are without injured sextet Ashley Robinson, Steve Harper, Ben Johnson, Terry Dodd, Daryl Wollers and Stuart Axten.

Teenagers Louis John, Dan Kempson, Doug Tuck, Harvey Whyte and Carl Walshe have all helped fill the gaps, with Kempson and Walshe both scoring their first Bognor goals on Tuesday.

Skipper Ben Andrews should come back into the side at Canvey in place of Dan Sackman, who is on duty with Moneyfields.

Howell said: ‘Not one of them has let us down and undoubtedly they will keep on getting chances in the first team – not just now but later in the season.’
