Good show on the road as Hawks impress to beat Wealdstone

Gosport Borough progressed into the semi-finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 2-0 win over AFC Bournemouth.

First-half goals from Jack Barton and Tim Sills earned Alex Pike’s side a place in the last four, where they will be joined by Wessex League premier division side AFC Portchester.

The Royals sealed their path into the next round with a 3-1 win over Petersfield at Wicor Rec.

Garry Moody, Danny Audin and Simon Wood all scored for Graham Rix’s side.

Sam Martin scored from the penalty spot for the division one outfit.

Also into the semi-finals are Basingstoke, who beat Whitchurch 2-1, and the Hawks – 3-0 winners over Farnborough on Monday night.

Meanwhile, in the Ryman League, Bognor defeated Cray Wanderers 2-1, with Terry Dodd and Kane Wills on the mark.
