Gosport Borough remain rooted to the bottom of Skrill South after they slumped to a 3-0 loss at Dover Athletic.

After the extraordinary high of last week, when Alex Pike’s side claimed their place at Wembley in the FA Trophy final with victory over the Hawks, their perilous league position continues to represent a grim reality as they battle to avoid the drop.

On this evidence, they will need a vast improvement after they were outclassed by Dover, who deservedly claimed the victory as Borough failed to seriously trouble the home goalkeeper.

And while Gosport still have games in hand on their rivals, they were well beaten by a team pushing for the play-offs.

In the Wessex League premier division, AFC Portchester were defeated 3-0 at home to Folland Sport.
