Gosport Borough slipped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Vanarama Conference South basement boys Staines Town at Wheatsheaf Park, tonight.

The third successive loss for Alex Pike’s side put another dent in eighth-placed Borough’s play-off ambitions.

After a goalless first half, Ashley Lodge put the Swans ahead early in the second period.

Though Borough skipper Sam Pearce equalised with a thumping header, Lodge’s second goal 15 minutes from time condemned the visitors to defeat.
