Gosport secured a valuable away point in a 1-1 draw at Arlesey – but it was very close to being all three.

Borough looked to be heading for a welcome victory in the Southern League premier division when skipper Aaron Cook headed home on 80 minutes.

But five minutes from time, Chris Dillon’s free-kick flew through a crowd of players, deceived keeper Nathan Ashmore and crept in at the far post.

New striker Steffan Gaisie was given his debut in attack for Gosport.

Wayne Boud grabbed a first-half hat-trick as Fareham strolled into second round qualifying of the FA Vase after a 6-0 win over Amesbury.

Two of Boud’s goals were from the penalty spot, while Ashley Tattersall, Kieran Lewis and Bryn McKie were also on target.

In the Wessex League premier division, Moneyfields beat Lymington Town 2-1.
