Gosport are hoping new strike duo Liam Sewell and Tom Price can fire them to victory at Bishop’s Cleeve in the Zamaretto Southern League south & west division (3pm).
Borough have lost their two most experienced strikers, Justin Bennett and James Taylor – the latter to a calf ligament injury – and now look to the youngsters.
Both are on loan – Sewell from the Hawks and Price from AFC Totton – and looking to make their mark.
‘It is a blow losing two influential players in a short space of time but it gives the newcomers an opportunity,’ said assistant-manager Mick Catlin.
Borough have remained unbeaten since the turn of the year and have dragged themselves to within touching distance of the play-offs.
‘We are looking to make up ground on fifth-placed Paulton Rovers,’ said Catlin.
‘If we continue to pick up points away from home and win our home games then we won’t be too far away.
‘Our away form has been patchy. We have come unstuck against some of the lower sides.
‘It is an area which we need to improve but Bishop’s Cleeve is never an easy place to go.
‘They are a big physical side who always put you under a bit of pressure.
‘We’ve been grinding out results recently and must look to do the same again.’
