Alex Pike has added more Football League experience to his Gosport Borough ranks after completing a deal for ex-Brighton forward George Barker

The 23-year-old came through the ranks with Albion but has also had loan spells with Barnet, Newport County and Tranmere.

After four first-team appearancplayeres for Brighton, he joined Swindon in January 2014 on an 18-month deal.

He made five appearances in League One last season but was released at the end of the campaign.

And Pike is delighted with his latest recruit as he looks set to throw him straight into the league clash with St Albans City.

He said: ‘He’s a terrific player. He can play as a striker, just behind the striker or on the left wing.

‘He gives me a bit of flexibility and he is very quick. It’s the type of player we are looking to bring in.

‘He is a local lad, which definitely helps. But he is young and hungry and has real quality.’
