GOSPORT BOROUGH’S heroes are a single step from Wembley after a glory 2-1 FA Trophy win today.

Alex Pike’s men triumphed over Skrill North league leaders North Ferriby on a historic occasion.

Borough made the long trip to Humberside and flew into a 2-0 first-half lead.

Sammy Igoe and Tim Sills were the men to do the damage and put the Privett Park outfit in the ascendancy.

North Ferriby replied after the restart through Dean Lisles to make it a nerve-jangling finale.

But Borough showed all their grit and resilience to hold on and pick up a famous success.

Hawks’ FA Trophy clash with Aldershot at Westleigh Park was postponed today. The match will now be played on Tuesday night.
