Fareham and Hayling were both left fuming with refereeing decisions which cost them points today.

Fareham had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Verwood, while Hayling lost 1-0 at Lymington Town.

Tom Winzar put Fareham ahead on 33 minutes when he got on the end of Martin’s long ball and produced a deft glancing header past the keeper.

Matt Parr’s men then had a goal controversially ruled out in the second half when Dougie Rowe netted but was ruled offside, despite the key pass appearing to have been played back to him.

And just to add insult to injury, Verwood levelled on 79 minutes despite scorer Birch looking two yards offside.

Hayling went down to a 50-minute penalty, which appeared harsh.

Alex Easton then had a goal wiped out for offside, before Nathan Kirby was sent off late on for a second yellow card.
