Classy Fareham Town beat AFC Stoneham 3-1 in the Russell-Cotes Cup at Cams Alders last night.

Louie Martin, Sam Knight and Graham Lindsey scored for the Reds.

Matt Parr’s men started brightly.

Lee Tigwell fired a corner against the post, before Gary Austin was denied by the Stoneham keeper.

Defender Martin then got the opener.

He headed home Tigwell’s corner.

After half-time, Knight’s shot took a deflection and nestled in the net for 2-0.

James Thompson was denied a goal by the offside flag.

But Lindsey finished a move created by John Wilson and Wayne Boud to make it 3-0.

Stoneham’s Colin Bath tucked home a late consolation.
