Gosport Borough crashed to their first defeat of the new Southern League season after an appaling first-half display at North Leigh.

Goals from the hosts’ James Organ and Elliot Osborne-Ricketts left Alex Pike’s Borough playing catch-up.

And, despite George Way pulling one back for the visitors in an improved second-half performance, the match ended 2-1.

Elsewhere, in the Wessex League, Horndean recovered from falling a goal behind to pick up a 2-1 victory at Alresford.

Torr Spicer and Dan Smith were the Deans’ scorers.

No such luck for Hayling United though, as they were beaten 2-1 at Winchester City.

Dan Martin’s spot-kick had put United in front but goals in each half gave the hosts the three points.
