Gosport Borough have completed a deal for Sholing defender TJ Cuthbertson.

The former Pompey youngster, 25, spent last season with the Southern League outfit following a spell in the Wessex League at Blackfield & Langley.

Cuthbertson, who plays at right-back and conceded a penalty against Borough in last season’s Hampshire Cup final, joins central defenders Ryan Woodford and Adam Brice in securing a move to Privett Park this summer.

He is likely to fill the void left by full-back Andy Forbes, who decided to retire at the end of last season.

Former Hawks defender Woodford and Brice, who played for Farnborugh last term, sealed their switches last week.

Cuthbertson was a striker when he signed a two-year scholarship deal at Fratton Park as a 16-year-old.

Following his release from the Blues, he had spells at Eastleigh and Winchester City.

Meanwhile, Brett Poate and Adam Wilde have penned new deals at Privett Park.
