Moneyfields forced a 3-3 draw in a rollercoaster Wessex League premier division contest at Hamble ASSC, with both teams ending the game with nine players.

The Copnor club clawed their way back from a two-goal deficit to lead 3-2 before a debatable penalty two minutes from time denied them the win.

‘We showed a lot of character to fight back after conceding two goals in the first 15 minutes,’ said Moneyfields boss Miles Rutherford.

‘But their penalty at the end was a joke.’

After a disastrous start, Moneyfields hit back before the break with goals from Dan Gauntlett and Bikram Singh.

Luke Middleton and a home player were sent off after a clash but Moneyfields took the lead through Jamie Hore.

There was still time for Russell Rackley to be adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.

Moneys skipper Shaun Kerridge was sent off for making his feelings known and the home side converted the resultant spot-kick.

Fareham Town came from behind to secure an excellent 2-1 win at fifth-placed Hamworthy United.

After falling behind midway through the first half the Reds hit back with two quick-fire goals from Graham Lindsey and Dan Hayes.
