Danny Kedwell’s second-half strike saw Gosport Borough come up just short against National League South leaders Ebbsfleet.

Justin Bennett cancelled out Matt Godden’s opener at Privett Park before Kedwell’s goal made the difference as the visitors ran out 2-1 winners.

The Hawks slumped to a fifth successive league defeat with a disappointing 2-1 reverse against Wealdstone at Westleigh Park

The damage was done in the first half, when the home side paid the price for poor defending.

Goals from Bradley Hudson-Odoi and Jeffrerson Louis left the Hawks with a mountain to climb.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the closing stages and substitute James Hayter pulled a goal back two minutes from time.

Petersfield recorded their second Southern League win of the season as they put in a good display to beat second-placed St Ives 2-0.

Joe Briggs and Lewis Hyde scored for the Rams.

In the Wessex League Cup, goals from Bradey Norton (2) and Jake Gale handed Fareham a 3-2 win at AFC Portchester.

Dave Carter’s first game in charge at Moneyfields saw his side draw 1-1 at Bournemouth Poppies, while United Services Portsmouth progressed to the next round thanks to a 2-0 win at Hamworthy United.

Horndean showed there is life after Carter’s departure after they hammered Andover 4-1 in the Wessex League premier division.

Robbie Tambling (2), Nathan Paxton and an own goal did the damage.

In the Ryman League premier division, Bognor drew 2-2 at home to East Thurrock.

An Alfie Rytherford double earned the Rocks a share of the points.
