Gosport Borough progressed to the second round of the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 3-1 home win against Hartley Wintney tonight.

Lukas Burt gave the Combined Counties League side an early lead at Privett Park, but Borough responded through goals from Dan Woodward, Matt Patterson and a 25-yard stunner from Steve Ramsey.

In the Portsmouth Senior Cup, Wessex League premier division leaders Petersfield eased past Clanfield 5-0 at Love Lane.

Jamie Butwell, Jake Slater (2), Gari Judd and Will Eassai all scored for Ian Saunders’ side.

James Ford’s last-gasp volley gave Fareham a first-round victory over AFC Portchester as the game looked destined to be decided on penalties.

Meanwhile, Horndean were 3-0 winners over Paulsgrove.
